Sarah Van Cleve

Sarah is the Senior Manager of the Energy Business Development Team at Tesla. In this role, Sarah leads strategy, new offerings, and market entry for Tesla’s global commercial energy business. Her work spans across the utility, commercial & industrial, and residential aggregation segments for Tesla’s battery energy storage and solar products. Sarah previously managed Tesla’s North America Energy Policy Team directing the company’s engagements with regulators and legislators on policies that affect the development of Tesla’s energy products. Prior to her five years at Tesla, Sarah led energy storage policy for Southern California Edison where she helped guide the utility’s groundbreaking 2014 procurement of more than a gigawatt-hour of energy storage systems. Sarah started her career as a financial analyst in electricity and emissions markets working in operations, trading, and market design. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from UCLA.
